This Monday I visited the office of Minda News, an alternative news service based in Davao City, at 19 Leo cor. 17 Venus Sts., GSIS Heights. It is a housing neighborhood in the Matina area. The office occupies a two-floor wooden structure.
"This is our Mindanao!" said editor Carolyn Arguillas
Mindanao News and Information Cooperative Center (MNICC) is a cooperative composed of independent, professional journalists who believe and practice people empowerment through media. It is the organization of Mindanews.
They said in their website, "We believe that Mindanao is not all bad news and that our responsibility as journalists and information providers is to ensure a mixed balance of reports beyond the usual fare published in national newspapers or aired on radio and TV."
