JAKARTA (JP): Of the five people granted National Hero titles yesterday, three are of Papuan origin from the province of Irian Jaya.
The presentation ceremony was held in conjunction with the country's commemoration of National Heroes' Day, which falls today.
The three, who received the title posthumously, are Frans Kaisiepo, Marthin Indey and Silas Papare.
President Soeharto himself dedicated the citations and the medals to their families.
